I am a board member!

Wow.I am the S.I.N representative to the ACSA board - SIN being the Sex Industry Network, and ACSA being the Aids Council of South Australia.Well that is, I will be. I sat in on my first meeting last night as an observer, and it was a great night to start.The minister for health - John Hill - attended. He was given a report from the manager of gay mens health, manager of SAVIVE - South Australian Voice for IV Education, and the manager of SIN. He was also given a tour of the place. Ari, Leah and I had spent 2 days getting the Sin area ready, and it looked spectacular!It still does.The safe sex shop has been moved into one of the offices, and it's set up properly with cupboards and everything! The lounge has been moved around too, the volunteer computer is in the corner now with the 'whoredrobe' area behind it. The horrendous old modular has gone and the couches are set up so that people can sit and chat.We have the SIN meeting next wednesday, so I can't wait to see what everyone else thinks of it.

Public housing disaster in Adelaide

I am homeless.I have been assessed by HousingSA as being 'in urgent need of housing', but I still have to wait up to 3 years to be housed.HousingSA owes money to the federal government, and in order to pay this debt they are selling off stock. Of course this stock isn't being replaced so the situation is getting worse.The waiting list has blown out to 25,000, of which 7500 are homeless, with about 350 'sleeping rough'.Homeless people don't vote, so we are invisible
